We’ve seen quite a few accidents along the highway in the past 11 weeks. Big 18 wheelers jack-knifed into ugly pretzels. Their cargoes spilled all over the highway. We’ve seen a dozen of car accidents alongside the road. Too many people don’t wear seat belts and still allow their kids to walk around in the back seat at 70 miles per hour. We’ve encountered drunks weaving in traffic. Thousands talk on cell phones while driving 75 miles per hour or making turns at intersections with only one hand on the wheel and not checking for traffic. Why does the public allow such irresponsible behavior that gets thousands of innocent people killed each year?

With 44,000 deaths on our nation’s highways annually, and half of them involving alcohol, why don’t we enact laws that stop it? Why not do one simple thing to stop drunks? What is it? Simple: impound any car of any drunk driver for two years. Make that driver pay towing, impound storage fees and severe insurance rates after a two year suspension of his/her license. If they drive a friend’s car, that automobile suffers the same fate. Without a car, drunk drivers can’t return to the road and no one will lend them a car. It would save 22,000 deaths per year, or, at least, save tens of thousands. It’s so simple and so easily implemented. Private companies would jump at the chance for storage fees! As it is, drunks pay a fine; lose their license, but then, jump back into their car and drive without a license until they kill someone.

In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, we walked into the prettiest, most ornate and imposing state capital in the entire United States. It’s on par with our nation’s capital in Washington, DC.

Mayor Lou Barletta made national news in Hazleton, PA with his crackdown on illegal aliens. His city council passed ordinances to rescind business licenses of those who hired illegals and landlords who housed them. His town suffered so much crime, rapes, burglaries, speeders and drunks that he took action.

It’s not isolated, either. Last week in Bellevue, Tennessee, 74 year old grandmother Mary Sadler suffered an attack and brutal killing by illegal alien Ivan Moreno, 30, of Mexico. He knocked on the door and begged for money. When she declined, he killed her and her bird. Moreno stands behind jars as of this writing, but Sadler now resides six feet under. What if George Bush’s mother, Barbara Bush, suffered such a horrible fate? What if this invasion got down to a personal level for Bush like it gets for 9,125 American citizens who are killed by illegal aliens every year in our own country? That’s 25 a day! Would Bush keep telling us that these illegals do the jobs that Americans won’t do?

One dear reader, Carmen and her husband visited us at the New Jersey rally and again at the Harrisburg capital. I thank her for her great patriotism and enjoyed interviewing her on my radio talk show last year.

Again, in PA, a huge throng of 10 people showed up to support the Paul Revere Riders.

A quick ride carried us to Annapolis, Maryland where the police quickly told us we couldn’t stand, carry signs, speak or hand out pamphlets. “Can I change the gear on my motorcycle?” I asked one officer. “No, get moving,” he said. “Sir, I’m talking five minutes over there in a parking spot where it won’t bother anyone,” I said. He frowned, “Well, make it quick and get out of here.”

So much for free expression and first amendment rights in our own country. What really blows me away stems from the fact that police stand idly by while hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens march in our streets, but when we, the citizens of this country stand to speak up on the lawlessness, we get threatened with arrest. The Boston debacle rang in my ears when we brought the permits, but the counter demonstrators got full rights to blow us off the Boston Commons. When those same illegal aliens marched in Boston, NO LAW OFFICER STOPPED THEM! No ICE agent stood up! No one stopped their anarchy!

Thoroughly disgusted, we rode out of Annapolis wondering why we taxpayers pay millions of dollars for naval cadets to serve four years in college and become officers, only to have our own rights stomped into the ground.

In Dover, Delaware, we met with four people who showed up at the capitol.

Now, 11 weeks into this ride, we’re all exhausted. Not having anyone show up was somewhat of a relief, because, at the same time, we wouldn’t be facing 100 screaming maniacs calling us every name in the book. We’ve taken some rough shots and hard times from those demonstrators over the last four weeks.

They don’t bring reason, thought or discussion to our ralliesonly vindictive, vitriolic, malicious, caustic and venomous rants. They wave the Mexican flag and chant in Spanish. These are examples of George Bush’s finest hour for the desecration of the U.S. Constitution.

We rolled toward Richmond, Virginia. Their capitol, designed by Thomas Jefferson, was walled off with scaffolding while being totally refurbished. Outside, we stood in awe of a cluster of statues showing Washington on a horse and surrounded by George Mason, Patrick Henry, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and several other great men of that time. St. John’s Church, behind the capitol, was the place where Henry gave his “give me liberty or give me death” speech.

I’d like to stop here to thank several of the riders who made their way across thousands of miles to join us. A man named Curtis, from Louisville, Kentucky rode his Harley-Davidson two days and through the night to be with us on our last three stops. He stood with us in DC the last day. Norman from Arizona did the same. Across America, Harley-Davidson shops hosted our rallies. I can’t thank each and every rider enough for sharing the road with the Paul Revere Ride Team. It meant a lot to have kindred souls on the road.

I won’t fool anyone; this is a hard ride. One minute we’ve got people cheering and thanking us, and the next, cursing us to go to hell or worse. At other times, no one shows up. Most often, the media wants to ‘corner’ us with racial bias for their interviews. Then, back on our bikes, we pushed through horrific traffic. It’s dangerous on the East Coast with such heavy traffic volume.

You don’t ride 20,000 miles in 12 weeks without cost. Especially on a motorcycle, you must be alert every second on the road, or get killed. As a team, several of us got ‘short’ with each other the last two weeks from the severe stress we experienced. However, it didn’t deter us from our mission.

On August 12, 2006, the Paul Revere Team road into Washington, DC with flags flying and almost two dozen bikes following us. We rolled past the Iwo Jima memorial and on to the Pentagon parking lot. Again, we notified all the top TV media, papers and radio. Not one single TV reporter showed up at our final rally.

I gotta’ tell you; I thought Lou Dobbs would have us as guests of honor on his show. I figured Bill O’Reilly would offer us guest spots to get our take on America. I figured Matt Lauer would have a ton of questions. Surely Charlie Gibson would interview us. I thought at least one House Representative or senator would receive us into the nation’s capitol. We just rode our bikes 18,000 friggin’ miles to all 48 state capitols in 11 weeks. We gave speeches and rode our hearts out.

We interviewed on 95 TV shows, 90 newspaper interviews, 60 radio interviews, NPR radio, Fox News in the Morning, and spoke to documentary film crews.

Hundreds of thousands knew about the final rally in DC. A grand total of 40 people showed up and almost two dozen bikes. I supposed if we had fought back at previous rallies and got into fist fights and called the illegals a bunch of ‘racist’ names, the press would have been their like wolves surrounding a deer. If we had broken a bunch of laws or harmed someone or threatened someone, the press would have been there.

Instead, we were ordinary American citizens who stood up for our country. We spoke out for America. We brought fact-based information as to what is happening to our country. We said, “In post 9/11 21st century America, it is dangerous and irresponsible to allow millions of people into our country and we don’t know who they are…we don’t know their criminal backgrounds, the diseases they carry, or their terrorist intentions. They overwhelm our schools, hospitals, prisons and language.

“We want our Constitution upheld by our president and Congress. They aren’t. We want National Guard on our borders, a big fence, employers of illegal aliens arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned, stopping of anchor babies, no amnesty or path to citizenship for illegals…and a reduction of legal immigration to a sustainable 100,000 annually so all Americans of every race, creed and color have the opportunity to pursue the American Dream in a sustainable society.

“Finally, we asked, name one advantage to adding 100 million people to the United States in the next 34 years?”

Tears streamed down my face as well as Rick’s, Micha’s and Cindy’s. We saluted Don McKee who couldn’t finish the ride. We thanked Glen Colton and all the hosts who took us into their homes as if we were their next door neighbors. The fact is, we’re all neighbors from Maine to Michigan to Oregon to Texas to Florida. We’ve all got a stake in this national nightmare.

All of us gave our speeches. We presented Micha with the Paul Revere Ride banner. We gave our special Paul Revere Ride Salute to the audience. My brother Howard signed off as “Trail Boss”. We fired up our bikes and rode around the Capitol Building and by the White House.

In the annals of American history, perhaps nothing will become of this one critical moment where six Americans from across the country set out on a 48 state motorcycle ride in the summer of 2006. Perhaps our efforts fell on deaf ears of a sleeping nation. Maybe the history of great nations follows in the footsteps of Rome. Maybe America no longer maintains a spot on the mountain of human hope.

Perhaps this nation deserves an incompetent leader like George Bush breaking international laws by attacking other nations, violating his oath of office, crushing the Middle Class by encouraging illegal alien migration as well as support of insourcing, oursourcing and offshoring. Perhaps this nation deserves a “bought and paid for” U.S. Senate.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense understands the next 100 million immigrants in 34 years cements the destruction of the United States of America.

In the final column, part 14, of this Paul Revere Ride, I hope to bring you observations from my “rear view mirror”.

Ever hear the rumble of a big Harley-Davidson Road King thundering toward you? It’s all American. It’s the USA. It’s freedom personified. It’s wild. It’s liberating. It’s you, nature and the endless ribbon of pavement extending across America.

No matter how big or fancy the cars ahead or behind you, people stare at motorcyclists heading “Into the Wind”. If they don’t know the feeling, they can’t relate, but somewhere in their sleeping wildness, they crave the raw power of a motorcycle.

What does a motorcycle bring an American? Adventure! Pure and simple! Elvis loved his Harleys. Steve McQueen rode to stardom in the “Great Escape”. Marlon Brando thrived on his bike in the “Wild One”. Schwarzenegger straddled a Harley in his “Terminator” film. Every man and woman that rides knows the feeling, the power, the sheer energy derived from riding the beast between their legs.

In the summer of 2006 as members of the 21st Century Paul Revere Ride, two women and three men traversed America on motorcycles. They gunned their engines through 20,000 miles of America’s wondrous landscape. They climbed into snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains. They rolled along the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. They throttled their way into arid deserts with 114 degrees of heat boiling off suffocating pavement. They powered up passes with rain and snow slamming into their bodies. They cruised across barren prairie and into verdant forests where Paul Bunyan once ruled. They crossed quiet rivers dominated by ancient forests in America’s northeast woodlands.

“They’re so dangerous,” many said. “You could get killed,” others lamented. To that I say, “You could die in a rocking chair from boredom, too!”

For those of us who ride, there’s a ‘sweet spot’ where the wind, temperature and speed mesh into synchronicity that creates a sense of freedom that carries a rider’s spirit into realms unexplainable—it’s a feeling. For Americans, it’s taken for granted after 230 years that we possess the ability to do what we please. We work hard; we play hard. What is Sturgis, South Dakota? It’s a legend realized by those who ride bikes. A motorcycle takes us there! Haven’t been to Sturgis? Go there before you die, because if you don’t, you miss one of the greatest spectacles and pageants of American life! I guarantee it.

As I headed into my final 2,000 miles back home from Washington, DC, I needed a break from the extreme stress of the last 11 weeks. I chose the Blue Ridge Skyline Drive starting in Front Royal, Virginia. Talk about riding a slithering snake! Fun, baby, you ain’t had fun until you’ve throttled into its awesome beauty! Next, I chose the Blue Ridge Parkway over 470 miles of extreme curves, Civil War history, gapping canyons filled with trees, rivers, Mabry Mill, and quiet beauty of the Appalachian Mountains. From there, I cruised into the Great Smokey Mountains where I shot a lot of pictures and wrote a feature article for Rider Magazine, which I’ve been writing for, for the past 26 years.

Additionally, for those of you with kids, I invite you to visit my website or www.amazon.com where you’ll discover “MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE TO ALASKA: INTO THE WIND—A TEEN NOVEL” by Frosty Wooldridge. It’ll carry you and your teens into a wild and marvelous adventure much like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, but set in the 21st century where Old Man River has been replaced by a ribbon of concrete and the raft is now a motorcycle. It’s a rite of passage book for teens–filled with remarkable adventures.

But for me, the sun’s shadows grow long in my 60 years of living. I’m looking in the rear view mirrors. I’ve lived the American Dream like few others. How fortunate and blessed I’ve been to travel across six continents. How graced to live through amazing bicycle adventures as well as motorcycle journeys. Each day I wake up, I am filled with wonder, awe and gratitude.

I’ve worked hard all my life; I earned my passage. I took generous amounts of time to explore the planet, discovered a great deal, learned a lot; and now, it’s payback to my country.

In this grand journey across 48 states, I’ve seen the good, bad and ugly expressing itself in America. Here’s what I learned on the 21st Century Paul Revere Ride.

AMERICA IN THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS

I thank each and every one of you fellow Americans for your donations to the Paul Revere Ride. For every $10.00 up to $1,000.00, your money paid for gas, food and shelter. Your donations helped with signs, media and equipment. I am so deeply touched that you cared enough to make a contribution to this cause, this shining moment, this salute to Paul Revere and the brave men of the American Revolution.

I thank the families who sacrificed the time away from their husbands, wives and kids. This was not an easy walk in the park. I thank my wife, Sandi, for her support as she worried that I might get hurt or suffer violence. I thank all the wives and husbands who sent their warriors into harms way. I thank my brother Howard for being the best “trail boss” on this arduous ride. He’s a man of true grit having already ridden his horse across America twice. “Misty’s Long Ride: Across America on Horseback” by Howard Wooldridge. He exemplifies the kind of ‘grit and determination’ needed in this hour of crisis for our nation.

I thank Micha, Don, Cindy, Rick, Glen and Howard for making compelling speeches during difficult moments when the lawless won out with sirens, horns and loudspeakers. I’m proud that we didn’t resort to violence or finger pointing or name calling. We didn’t engage the counter demonstrators. We proceeded with noble purpose and honor. After all, Paul Revere rode into the night against horrific odds of being shot, horse breaking his leg or being knocked off by a traitor.

I thank each and every person who organized rallies for us in all the states across America. Your steadfast energy and organization created that “tipping point” that will result in people changing their votes this November. This American dilemma, after all, is the greatest crisis facing our nation since the Civil War. If you don’t understand that, pray the history books show that we won and not the illegal alien hordes or their supporters. No Republican form of government can long exist with the invasion we suffer today from Mexico.

I thank all the hosts across America who took us in for a night or two. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. I loved sitting on decks with a lake out front after a hard day’s ride. I loved conversations with you as we broke bread and shared our lives. Honest to God, we Americans are all neighbors. You’re welcome at my house anytime.

I thank everyone who brought gifts of cookies or treats. Marty’s in Nebraska still keep my taste buds dancing! Thank you to all the gray-haired ladies who shook our hands and took pictures. Thank you to the WWII men, Korean veterans and Vietnam vets who stood so proud to once again stand for their country. Everyone waved an American flag in the face of Mexican flags. Others withstood withering insults by illegal aliens and their supporters. I’m amazed we didn’t get attacked and beaten up, but then again, thank you to all the police officers who stood between us and the lawless ones.

I thank the motorcycle clubs like Rolling Thunder, Abate, Harley-Davidson bike shops and organizers who stepped up. Thank you Minutemen in every state who guarded us at the rallies. I thank brave speakers like Tom Tancredo, Congressman Steve King of Iowa, Don Goldwater and Mike Harris running for governor in Arizona, and many other state representatives who spoke at our rallies.

Finally, I thank you, the great American reader and friend. We’re in this together. Our children are in this American crisis. All our families are in this national nightmare.

WHAT DID I LEARN?

In every state, illegal aliens overwhelm schools, hospitals, prisons, communities and the American way of life. They extend no respect, allegiance or loyalty to America. They show no respect for our language, culture or laws. They manifest diseases, drugs, gangs and violence. They infiltrate our own governmental sectors, fraudulently vote and take over whenever they gain greater numbers. They feed on our welfare system like parasites. They use us against ourselves. They eat our food in school breakfast and lunch programs, use our ESL courses against us, make babies on our dollar and laugh at us for allowing them to do it. They undermine our work force in all areas. We are in deep danger as their numbers grow.

Those who hire them cut their own throats in the long run and cut their neighbors’ throats in the short run. It’s all about money. It’s all about greed. It’s all about corporation CEOs making millions while we subsidize and suffer the consequences.

You would be astounded at the millions of ‘gated communities’ entrenched across this nation. They feel protected, but they won’t be protected as this nation turns toward the same violence experienced in Paris, France or the same tension realized in London, England. They suffer two separate societies instead of one British Society. They Balkanized themselves into severe immigration created multicultural nightmares. We’re following them into the same hellhole.

By allowing millions of illegal aliens to work our jobs, we’re forcing our working class citizens into greater poverty that, in the end, will join with the poverty of illegal aliens as they add millions more. You see, the line never ends. Mexico exported over 10 percent or upwards of 12 million illegals, but they will send another 12 million illegals if allowed. No one will win this immigration crisis. We’ll all lose. I see violence coming.

I also see politicians bought off by corporations. Watch the money and you’ll see the bills pass or fail, depending on contributions and arm-twisting by corporations. It’s why S.B. 2611 passed. It’s a travesty against the US Constitution, but 62 senators voted for it. They’re all bought and paid for by big money.

I saw apathy across this land thicker than hair on a sheep dog. I saw degraded ghettoes across this land in LA, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, New Orleans, Jackson, Mississippi and everywhere, but no President Bush helping to build up our country with jobs. I saw New Orleans and Katrina’s results, and if Bush thinks he’s doing a great job rebuilding Iraq, he’s a sad and sick man with a blind eye toward our own citizens.

I saw unending traffic gridlock and air pollution in cities across America—with no hope of being solved—but in fact, will grow worse as we add another 100 million people via immigration in the next 34 years. Yet, no one steps up to talk about it. No one speaks against the holy grail of growth. We’re like a 400 pound fat man trying to solve his weight problem by gorging on ice cream. We keep adding people and he keeps adding weight. At some point, he dies of a heart attack or can’t move, and his quality of life deteriorates to misery. At some point, our country suffers an irreversible crisis with unsolvable problems. For the West, it will be acute water shortages. For the rest of America, it will be degraded living conditions and environmental nightmares.

For those of you across the nation, I present a program to colleges, high schools, church groups, Rotary Clubs, civic clubs and more: “THE COMING POPULATION CRISIS IN AMERICA: AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT”. I need to present it to Congress to wake them up. I’ve tried to get on Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Charlie Gibson, Diane Sawyer, 60 Minutes and many more with that program, but they won’t touch it. We either deal with this 100 million now and stop it, or once they are here, we are finished as a nation and the American Dream won’t survive.

I learned that most Americans unfortunately think their senators and House reps work in America’s best interests. They think President Bush is doing the best for America. Nothing could be further from the truth. President Bush is, and I say this at point blank range, maneuvering to destroy America’s borders and sovereignty. Thus far, he succeeds more each day. Men like Congressman Chris Cannon of Utah, Senator Orrin Hatch, Congressman Joe Baca, House woman Nancy Pelosi, Senator John McCain and many others are in constant violation of their oath of office and the US Constitution. George Bush is eligible for impeachment for his offenses against the Constitution in the past six years.

I learned that our national language and cohesion as a nation and one people stands in critical danger. When the rate of immigration exceeds the rate of assimilation, it is a recipe for the destruction of any society. Forcing us to Push 1 for English and Push 2 for Spanish is the greatest fraud on our society, but not enough Americans protest; so, we get what ‘they’ force upon us. And, our society will pay as we fracture and become strangers to this subclass of foreign invaders. Don’t blame them; blame ourselves for allowing it.

I learned that few Black Americans and even fewer Hispanic Americans stand up against this invasion. How ironic! They suffer the greatest consequences as their jobs vanish to the illegals. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton suffer ego, false Black pride and buckets of money while their fellow Black Americans die in the inner cities.

I learned that our bridges and highways crumble and crack while we spend billions to rebuild Iraq, Afghanistan and dozens of other countries. Our schools fall apart for our working poor and our health care helps illegals more than our own citizens.

I learned that Bush and Congress promote and aid illegality as well as all 50 governors of our states. Notice not one of our 50 governors stands up against this invasion or speaks out. Mayors of cities cower in corners while our citizens suffer rapes, death, child molestation, drugs, crime and worse.

I learned that we’re in a race to see how fast the ‘elites’ can destroy our country by vanquishing our borders and flooding us with the world’s unending poor versus how fast we citizens stand up to stop it. If we don’t, we shall devolve into a second world country where Mexicans, Central Americans, South Americans and millions from around the world spill into our country without end. At some point, we’ll have a high class and a low class. Our middle class shall not survive this invasion much longer. There will be a ‘tipping point’ where we either regain our borders or lose them altogether. It’s not going to be pretty.

Finally, I learned that the consequences of adding 100 million people reported by USA TODAY newspaper in July would and should shock the pants off Americans. It didn’t and hasn’t. Those 62 senators would vote again for S.B. 2611 that ensures adding 100 million people to our country. I can’t figure out if we have lost our collective minds or we don’t have enough educated people in this country who understand the magnitude of our situation. The regular “Joe” doesn’t have a clue as he watches Mexicans overrun his community. He complains but does nothing. He curses them, but won’t take action.

After the assault with intent to deafen us in Boston, we rode away with a new understanding of why they keep electing Senator Teddy Kennedy in Massachusetts. In the cradle of the American Revolution where noble men like Paul Revere, Samuel Adams and John Hancock stepped up to create America– the city supports muffin-heads, lunatics and a drunken, obese senator who harmed America more than any other man in the past 50 years with his 1965 Immigration Reform Act.

History’s reality check will not be kind to Teddy Kennedy. He’s the most out of touch, profoundly ignorant of his actions and overwhelmingly harmful U.S. Senator in recent history. He got away with an illicit affair and death at Chappaquiddick, he authored his country’s destruction with his immigration reform act that added 106 million people to our country in 40 years, and finally, the man, as a career politician, hasn’t done an honest days work in his life. He represents the worst in America as to corpulence, alcoholism and irrelevance. As Mark Twain said, “Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress: but then, I repeat myself.”

In Rhode Island, a throng of screaming maniacs marched up to our group on the steps of the capitol. They covered our banner with their banner. They screamed and blasted us with sirens and loud speakers. Again, we presented our permit to assemble peacefully and bring our message to that state. A number of good people from the State of Rhode Island stood with us.

Finally, we called the cops and they pushed back the demonstrators who were singing in Spanish. We presented our speeches to the public and interviewed with the press.

Have you noticed how Third World countries operate? Try mob rule! Try violence! Try chaos! Illiterate people thrive on chaos and then, dictators come in to save them. They follow blindly. They follow without question.

Everywhere we’ve ridden our bikes across America–we’ve lived by peaceful, lawful assembly and permits to speak our First Amendment rights. We’ve brought fact-based messages. At each of the places where counter demonstrators showed up, they couldn’t bring reasoned or peaceful debatebut they brought vulgarities, sirens, bullhorns and sign language.

My thought: when good people say nothing or do nothing, lawless people get away with anything. How come 90 percent of Americans want illegal immigration stopped and legal immigration reduced to fewer than 200,000 annually, but they don’t speak up and they don’t take action? Why have counter demonstrators always outnumbered our American citizen audiences 10 to 1? It doesn’t make any difference if it’s on a Saturday or Sunday or Monday, at nine in the morning or seven at night.

As I travel down the highway, I can’t help thinking why we send our nation’s finest soldiers into a war zone that stands 10,000 miles away while based on a lie of weapons of mass destruction? Why stay there when we know it’s a hopeless quagmire like Vietnam? It accomplishes only death for their people and death for ours. Just like this REAL invasion of our country by Mexico, too few Americans stand up or speak out. They think George Bush knows what he is doingwhen clearly, after six years of failed presidency on all levels, he does not know his butt from a hole in the ground. I pity him each time he ascends the podium to “…stay the course,” when the course resembles the Titanic. Back home he aids this Mexican invasion while millions of Americans sit back doing nothing.

My riding partner Rick Chiesa said, “As the first illegals came to America, they took jobs in agriculture. I did not care because I didn’t drive a John Deere. Then they took jobs of janitors and maids, but I didn’t care because I didn’t push a broom. Then they took jobs building houses, landscaping, painting and roofing, but I didn’t care because I didn’t swing a hammer. Next they took jobs building bridges and highways, but concrete wasn’t my thing. Then they took jobs driving 18-wheelers, but I didn’t mind since I didn’t push a rig along those white lines. Then they came for my job, but no one protested with me.

“There is almost no job an illegal alien won’t do for half the wages you are making. Wake up America for the bell tolls for you.”

Anyone who doesn’t understand that growing reality, I highly recommend you read Pat Buchanan’s latest book, “STATE OF EMERGENCY: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America”. He illustrates how America will suffer, if we don’t stop immigration, 100 million more poverty stricken South and Central Americans along with millions more Mexicans will migrate to our country. This migration will add those 100 million within 44 years. He graphically shows how they will degrade our country into a second or third world country. I don’t know if you’re experiencing a sickening dread in the pit of our stomach, but I am. Why? Because I’ve traveled throughout Mexico and South America! It is beyond most Americans’ comprehension of what we’re importing into our country. Once those wretchedly poor, illiterate and growing numbers manifest in our countryour society is screwed.

By the way, that 100 million doesn’t include another 20 to 30 million predicted by USA TODAY by 2050. All totaled, we expect to suffer 120 to 130 million added people by mid century.

In my youthful enthusiasm and naiveté, I figured thousands of bikes and thousands of people would show up at these rallies, especially when Americans of all walks of life suffer from this illegal alien invasion. How appallingly wrong I was! We sent press releases via email, fax and phone calls. We notified all immigration groups. We got on radio shows. We contacted thousands and only dozens showed up. It makes me wonder if a nation and its people expect demise of their country or become too tired to live.

In the fair State of Connecticut, a massive throng of 150 dedicated illegal aliens and their advocates brought more noise than an NFL football game when the home team scores the winning TD in the last second. Those pro-illegals, anti-U.S. Constitution, anarchist–screamed bloody murder at us. However, the cops wisely kept them 500 feet away from our podium. As always, we did not engage them with looks, voice or hand signals. I think that infuriated them even more.

We gave our speeches, interviews and handouts to the crowd. A TV news reporter tried to bait Howard and me as to racist intentions, but we coolly and coldly gave him the facts and our trump question: “Name one advantage of adding 100 million people to the United States in the next 34 years.” He left disgusted with himself that he couldn’t bring the ‘racist’ card to our party. When we expose this illegal invasion at its foundation, it’s simple: Illegal immigration is against the law. There’s not one, single excuse that makes it right, moral or otherwise. It’s illegal. Period!

Delaware allowed us some peace and tranquility as we gave our program to a quiet group of dedicated Americans numbering 20. They brought signs and banners. Bless them for their dedication. Again, we brought the message to tens of thousands via the TV multiplier affect.

In New Jersey, Frank and his son Steve welcomed us into their home. They rode with us throughout the rest of the trip. Another rider from Oklahoma named Norman, caught up with us and rode all the way to DC. I can’t thank each of the riders who joined us in every state. Your support and riding with us made a huge impact as to the pageantry of the bikes. I won’t forget the LA rally or the one in Nashville, Tennessee with the Rolling Thunder! Man, talk about all American Harley-Davidson raw energy!

We gave our program in New Jersey and left for the capitol in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Again, we traveled through deep green forests and rolling hills, but I have to warn America, if we add another 100 million people to our country in the next 34 years, all our cities will become gridlocked in unlivable traffic, crowding, environmental degradation, water shortages and lowering of our quality of life at all levels.

I think only a few understand what’s happening to us. We’re being transformed into an overpopulated, second world country. We keep adapting to the limitations on our freedoms, loss of land, loss of free time, paying for services for those illegally in our country, loss of our language, pretending to teach the invaders’ kids English as if they care to become Americans and speak our language, idle time in gridlock traffic, higher gas prices brought on by demand and supply, higher costs in medicine, schools and prisons. As I ride down the road, I don’t understand why we didn’t enjoy 10,000 Americans at every capitol steps to create a firestorm of media coverage. I anticipated this ride making major impact on the media. I expected the Paul Revere Team to sit in front of Matt Lauer, Charlie Gibson, 60 Minutes, The Early Show, Prime Time and Larry King. We carry a message as important as Paul Revere’s.

Instead, apathy by Americans and being ignored by the major networks faced us for 20,000 miles.

Reader Pat wrote, “We are up to our necks in Turncoats and they are exceedingly well equipped and dug in. They have been here forever with combined forces that are committed to their survival! We are blowing against the wind. If for some crazy reason, the sheeple awoke from their slumber today…it would still be too late! You’ve been across the nation now, did you see any signs of the people shaking off their slumber? Or did they just look at you with that dumb-beast stare, with mouthfuls of prairie grass? You are trying in vain to let the light shine in. This nation is finished as we know it.”

She sobered me, but then, history tells me that five percent of the colonists brought this nation into being. I know that a few stout hearts create change. It requires purpose, passion and path. The path grows with each added American awakening to our nation’s crisis. I STILL expect ‘critical mass’ to create ‘tipping point’ that yields attrition through enforcement. Illegals already are vacating Georgia because of its new strict laws. Mayor Barletta in Hazelton, Pennsylvania chases them out as you read this column. Colorado’s illegals stand scared in their britches as new laws against them passed this summer. We shall “sour the milk” at the trough at which they feed on our society.

Another reader, Ken said, “Your recent piece about Americans not voting and always re-voting for the same elected idiots over and over reinforces my own observations.

“First, the very foundation of the United States was with less than 50% voting and participation. Almost as many “Colonists” were loyal to the crown as wanted independence. So apathy and laziness are a tradition with Americans from day one.

“Second, I am about ready to join the ranks of those that believe that we have gone over the edge and can not recover the Federal or most State governments that have us hamstrung with taxes and regulations. From what I’ve read in the Federalist Papers, I conclude that the founding fathers also expected that the government needed a swift kick in the pants or to be replaced periodically. If memory serves me, I think Thomas Jefferson stated every ten years or so.

“Hang in there, you’re not alone and many more people than you would ever guess are feeling the same animosity and dismay with voter apathy and ignorance. What spark will ignite the flame and wake the American people to the white wash we are all getting in is yet to be determined, but IT WILL HAPPEN!”

That’s why Paul Revere rode and that’s why we ride. Cindy and Micha ride ahead of me today while Rick hangs on my wing. He’s a hell of a wing man. As we pass through traffic, he cuts into the passing lane knowing we’ll all swing out together. Like poetry in motion, Micha and Cindy’s turn signals blink and they accelerate into the passing lane. I swing my iron steed to the left after glancing to clear traffic. We return the right drive lane in unison. Micha gives me a flashing hand burst to tell me to turn off my signal. Thanks Micha!

We’re heading into the final three states of this ride and our destination of Washington, DC. We’ve covered 45 capitols, 15,000 miles in nine weeks. We’ve spoken to 90 TV stations, 89 newspapers and 60 radio shows. We’ve reached over 16 million people and many more millions on the Internet.

Are our efforts useless? Is it worthless to try? Have we lost? Should we give up? Are we over the edge? Has the fat lady sung?

My dad was a U.S. Marine. He never taught me “defeat” as a noun, adverb or preposition. I don’t remember him saying, “Son, you’ll probably lose this game so what’s the use of playing it?” You’ll never hear from me, “Gosh, these 20 million illegals have got us by the throat so let’s give up so our kids can live like other squalor and corruption-soaked nations such as Mexico, Honduras or Columbia.”

Every day on my bike riding through 43 states, I say my prayers. I speak to God honestly with my whole being. I speak my truth. I stand up for my country. I speak into the chaos of illegal alien advocates and counter demonstrators. I speak out for our Constitution. I speak with integrity because integrity wins every discussion in a Republic. To sit back on my butt and watch TV is not an option for me. If I should do less, what kind of an American am I? What kind of an American are you? What kind of an America will you leave your children?

As we ride toward Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the final leg of this amazing journey across America, we’re privileged to hear honks from fellow Americans. We’re thankful for the hundreds of thousands of ‘thumbs up’ by passing cars. It’s nice to know that, today, still in America–most Americans wave our Old Glory, speak English, stand for the rule of law and love this nation.

However, that’s not enough. You must become actively involved at every level in your community like Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Every mayor of every city must check with Mayor Barletta’s website on how to stop them in our cities. More Kathy McKee’s must step up like in Arizona. More Fred Elbel’s, Stan Weekes’, Mike McGarry’s, D.A. King’s, Henry McElroy’s, William Gheen’s, Linda Muller’s, Judy Singer’s, Terry Anderson’s, Barbara Coe’s, Roy Beck’s, David Durham’s, Robert Vasquez’s and thousands more must lead millions of Americans ready to act. We must clean out the driftwood in the Senate and House this November. Again, join www.numbersusa.com to make a huge impact and change history.

Up ahead, I see my brother Howard has picked out a place to stay. I roll up to the door, exhausted. You can’t imagine the long term drain of 15 hour days, people screaming obscenities at you while others offer cookies and thanks. At the final report of this ride, I hope to bring you good news, sobering news and opportunities for you to make a difference. I’m thinking back at last week as I stood over Paul Revere’s grave. You know what? I think he’s smiling because he knows that Americans have the grit, determination and power to take destiny into their own hands. He did it at the Boston Tea Party and the night he rode to warn of the British advance. He did it in his time and we do it in ours. He succeeded and so shall we. Good night and God’s speed.

On Saturday the Revere Riders + Don McKee in spirit met with two dozen supporters at the Pentagon parking lot for a final rally. Emotions ran high and tears flowed as Frosty, Cindy, Micha and Rick showed the gathered WHY & HOW to change the policy of Open Borders. Afterwards we took a symbolic ride past the Capitol and White House to bring the 21st Century Paul Revere Ride to a close.

After some 18,000 miles over 10 weeks the Riders have now scattered to the four winds from whence they came. They rode home knowing that some 17 million Americans had heard their message via over 200 media contacts in the 48 states. Their bodies and brains were battered and worn out from the brutal pace, scorching summer sun and the screams and gestures from those who like open borders. I am so proud of the Riders and their service to America. Words are inadequate to convey my admiration.

I want to thank Ed Whitbred of Maryland and his better half Gail who provided a feast of royal proportions at his country home to give the Riders a wonderful memory and full stomach as they journeyed home alone.

NOTE: After a two week vacation I will be back at it here in the DC area. This website will remain active for at least the next 6 months. Feel free to contact me. Let me know what I can do for you, either locally or in the halls of Congress.

“If I weren’t on duty,” a motorcycle cop said as he pulled up to our rally, “I’d join you!”

At every capitol we’ve visited, cops can’t speak to us; however, they show their agreement with us in many ways. My brother Howard, a retired cop, appreciates how police feel in communities across America. They’re over-burdened with illegal alien drug gangs such as 11,000 MS-13 gang members operating in 33 states, thousands of drunks, rapes, Mexicans driving without licenses or insurance, domestics and burglaries. American cops must contend with non-support of Immigration Customs Enforcement, which tells them to let illegals back into our society. We’ve come to such a state of lawlessness that criminal aliens get away with murder. Cops in Los Angeles don’t even try to ticket aliens who drive without license plates and driver’s licensesbecause of their endless numbers. In other words, our laws mean nothing to Mexicans and other illegal aliens.

Mayor Bloomberg of New York openly supports them as well as shelters aliens with his sanctuary policy that he inherited from Mayor Guiliani. Thus, New York City bursts with illegal aliens. With huge financial outlays and destruction of New York schools, hospitals and prisons by illegals aliens, we stood astounded that only a handful of supporters met us at the capitol steps in Albany, New York. I’m speechless at the apathy of New Yorkers in the face of this invasion. I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how our nation became so lifeless, passionless, and docile to its fate.

Is it possible that we allowed this president to fabricate this Iraq War on us while at the same time, pretending to ‘secure’ us–by patting down gray-haired ladies at airports? Yet we disconnect in our futility as we watch our President Bush encourage an invasion breaching our border with Mexico that threatens the foundation of our republic! Why have we ceased to respond by non-participation in our country’s politics in the past 45 years? Facts speak for themselves with only 50 percent of the voting public casting a ballot in national elections and up to 90 percent not voting in local elections. Folks, that’s beyond pathetic!

You all read my piece on the consequences of “America’s Drought Predicament” in this week’s Monday column. Did you read where President Bush supports upping our legal immigration from 1.1 to 2.0 million legal immigrants per year? Did you see where the U.S. Senate upped work visas, chain migration, amnesty and other goodies in S.B. 2611 to make a grand total of more than 100 million added people to this country by 2040? What in the name of common sense and reason does it take for this country’s citizens to get off their butts and take action? Folks, 100 million more people will inhabit this country in 34 years if you sit back and watch Bush and the U.S. Senate pass S.B. 2611. What are you waiting for?

My frustrations anguished my mind as our Paul Revere Team rode toward Vermont. I noticed stunning cotton candy clouds hugging forested mountains overlooking bucolic towns along pristine rivers. You better believe Vermont exhibits beauty, peace and quiet. We rolled along stone fences, cows grazing, maple syrup sold everywhere and friendly people.

However, at the capitol, counter demonstrators blasted us with bullhorns and more jeering and name calling than a drunken brawl in a bar. Kids! Yes, they were naïve, stupid, stunted and mindless kids! We couldn’t say a word. We interviewed for one paper and headed for Maine.

If you ever defined the term “bucolic”, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine set the benchmark. We cruised through beautiful towns where K-Mart and Wal-Mart haven’t conquered, yet! We enjoyed maple, birch, oak and other hardwood trees as if we rode through a tunnel of the poet Walt Whitman described as “nature’s green velvet robe”.

In Maine, several folks turned out to meet us as well as the TV cameras. We gave speeches, interviews and enjoyed one in the crowd named “Jack” who was the Secretary of the Navy under President Nixon. Jack understood our country is in grave danger from the immigration invasion.

Unfortunately, Maine Governor Baldacci stands as the first U.S. governor to create a statewide sanctuary policy for illegals. If the three million that inhabit California jumped over to Maine, and in time, they will, the citizens of Maine will tar and feather such an incompetent public servant.

We headed back down the coast for a rally in Concord, New Hampshire where Henry McElroy gathered three state representatives for speeches on the negative impacts to that state.

I don’t mind telling you that the further away from the direct consequences of illegals, less people stand up or care a twit.

However, Boston’s nightmare is Teddy Kennedy! One cabbie said, “Teddy’s too drunk to think and to fat to move…he needs to find a real job.”

At Boston Commons, we set up our rally against a backdrop of screaming, yelling, cursing, finger raising, bird flipping, and sign-carrying maniacs. Four big Clydes Dale mounted police officers separated the counter demonstrators from us. Another 20 cops held them at bay. We couldn’t hear ourselves at close quarters from the noise. After two hours, the Boston Globe didn’t cover our rally and neither did the TV stations. We brought our show into the most liberal bastion on the East Coast. The fact that they keep electing Senator Teddy Kennedy give me the final clue as to how brain dead the public in that state is!

The next day, Sandi and I visited the U.S.S. Constitution, South Meeting Hall, Omni Parker Hotel and other landmarks in Boston. It’s the city where the Boston Tea Party and Samuel Adams and others started the American Revolution.

We visited Paul Revere’s gravesite. I well up with tears as I stood over that man who stands as one of America’s earliest heroes. Samuel Adams, John Hancock and Paul Revere organized the Boston Tea Party. They dressed up as Indians and dumped $2 million worth of tea into the harbor. “No taxation without representation!”

Later, they organized the American Revolution. Imagine that! It took a few good men to kick the British Army’s rear ends back to London.

We visited Revere’s House. I got all choked up again. This was heavy-duty history these men started. They’re the reason we enjoy our “Stars and Stripes” instead of the Union Jack and a king over us. Revere, Hancock, Samuel Adams, James Madison, John Adams, Betsy Ross, Washington, Ethan Allen, Ben Franklin, Jefferson and a dozen others along with all those who signed the Declaration of Independencefaced death from treasonyet they marched forward into history.

Later, we visited the Omni Parker House Hotel operating since 1855. I walked the same halls as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Charles Dickens, Daniel Webster, Longfellow, Amy Lowell, Nathaniel Hawthorne and many presidents. I stood where they stood! Wow! What an honor and inspiration!

We visited the Old State House where the great men of history presented ringing oratory in favor of creating our nation.

You know something? They never gave up! They never allowed death or personal safety to stop them. They are the reason that you and I enjoy the U.S. Constitution and every opportunity to enjoy “life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m fired up. I’m jazzed up for my country. I’m never giving up. I’m not stepping down. I’m standing up, speaking up, stepping forwardjust like they did! You know something else? At some point, no American can stay apathetic. I was standing in the “Cradle of America”.

Ladies and gentlemen of America, apathy is not a choice; surrender is not an option; and survival of our country is not negotiable.

On that great night where Prescott, Dawes and Revere rode their horses into history, I doubt they imagined they would become famous. They did what they had to do in their time and in their moment. Revere didn’t say, “The British are coming, the British are coming!” He said, “The regulars are out, the regulars are out.” This meant the King’s troops moved on Boston and surrounding areas against the American militia.

It wasn’t any one thing that birthed America. Today, it’s not just illegal aliens and the loss of the rule of law destroying America. From what I can see from my iron horse in the 21st Century Paul Revere Ride, it’s mostly apathy killing this nation. It’s too many people thinking someone else will take care of it.

I must ask youif not now, then when, if not you, then who?

Later that night, Paul Revere was caught and arrested. However, his 80 buddies shot off their weapons before going into the local tavern to warm up from the cold. The troops who collared Revere heard the shots and thought a whole army of militia charged from the distance. They left Revere and moved toward the direction of the gunfire. Revere escaped to become a Colonel in the Army that finally defeated the British.

I fear for America because we suffer a president who stands up for lawlessness instead of our Constitution. I fear we suffer a Congress as fat, stupid, drunk on power and greedy as Teddy Kennedy. I mostly fear we suffer an apathetic public too trusting or stupid to take action.

Yet, each day, I saddle my bike along with Rick, Cindy, Micha and Howard. We ride as if our country’s future depends on the little things we do. We ride to warn Americans that everything they do counts. If they do nothing, that counts worst of all. Good night and God’s speed.

Howard Here: Our rally on Sunday in Boston at the Boston Commons area was a very noisy affair. Several of the 30 counter demontrators blew air horns in the ears of several Revere Riders and supporters. They were stoical about it and simply put up w/ their 2 hours of non-stop screaming w/ megaphones and profanity in our faces.

Upon leaving the area, the muffin heads followed the Riders back to their bikes. Cindy was the first to put her helmet on and started up her large Harley. As the protestors pressed closely to scream a last, few insults, her throttle stuck wide open. The blast was deafening to all those around and for the first time all afternoon, the muffin heads backed up and covered THEIR ears!! For many seconds she was unable to stop the thunderous noise bellowing out of her twin pipes.

Cindy was able to fix the problem the next day w/ some machine lubricant. The problem (of the sticky throttle) has not reoccured. The muffin heads reappeared in greater numbers at both Providence and Hartford.

You can’t help loving North Carolina’s beautiful landscape that leads to ocean beaches in the east and verdant mountains in the west. It’s known as the Tar Heel State. Folks talk friendly and always wave, “Ya’ll come back, ya’ hear!”

They didn’t mean that greeting for those entering their state illegally. With over 500,000 to 750,000 illegal alien Mexicans overwhelming North Carolina, it could become the next “Hawaii or Alaska” for Mexico. Illegal Mexicans grab welfare benefits, steal jobs, overwhelm schools, hospitals and prisons while they colonize one of the original 13 colonies. They drive drunk, steal cars, get paid under the table and live 20 to an apartment.

We rolled our bikes into the capitol in Raleigh. North Carolina built that magnificent structure in 1833. It stands today as a reminder of the power of noble purpose. I can’t begin to tell you my emotions at standing inside those domed monuments to our republic for the past nine weeks. Each building, most of them in granite, feature statues of men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Andrew “Stonewall” Jackson, Abe Lincoln, Lewis and Clark, Ben Franklin, Susan B. Anthony, civil war soldiers, daughters of the pioneers and many other famous Americans. I stand in awe and gratitude for their service to America.

Before our rally began, a foreman across the street called the police that we had been harassing his illegal alien construction workers! Mind you, he’s the one hiring and working with his illegal alien employees. He’s the one in violation of our Federal Laws. He’s the reason a dozen North Carolinians weren’t working those construction jobs on that street in Raleigh that morning. But he’s the one that called the police on us! We were guilty of holding up signs, “Stop Illegal Immigration.” We took several pictures of his illegal alien workers to shut them up. It’s amazing how one little picture, one small light on an illegal activity causes them to scurry for cover. One illegal saw our banner and flipped us the bird. We took a picture of him, too.

William Gheen, president of Alipac, gave us a warm welcome. He spoke of North Carolina’s efforts and several victories to stop the invasion. He noted a dozen citizens of his state who had been killed or harmed by illegal aliens through drunken driving, gun play, stabbings and rape.

He talked about why the Senate passed S.B 2611 to allow all those CEOs who have been breaking Federal Laws to get off without any criminal consequences. Dozens of top company presidents would go to jail if Bush would enforce our current immigration laws.

He said, “We need to go back to President Teddy Roosevelt’s grave to grab a DNA sample…we need to clone him into the 21st century to bring a man of the people back into the White House…we need leaders not sycophants for money and power that work against the American people.”

Mr. Ron Wooddard, of www.nclisten.com an immigration reform organization in North Carolina, spoke about the successes in his state in stopping illegal aliens. He’s worked for years in alerting the public to the many consequences to American citizens.

After the rally, Gheen gassed up our bikes and guided us out to the expressway. Again, I mourned the low turnout for the rally, but smiled at the two TV camera crews that multiplied our impact by 100,000. I wonder if more Americans will turn out as they see their communities decay into poverty-stricken Mexican barrios full of crime, drugs and deaths like in Hazelton, Pennsylvania. I wonder if they’ll turn out when the trash outnumbers their own citizens and the drug dealers make their schools a living hell like in Los Angeles, California or Houston, Texas or Chicago, Illinois. I wonder if they’ll turn out when their schools turn into educational ghettoes ruled by gangs and violence.

Last week, in Denver, Colorado, former Governor Dick Lamm challenged blacks and Hispanics to follow the Chinese and Asians’ educational habits such as having their children study for excellence in schools instead of leading in drop out and flunk out rates. He showed how average black and Mexican students don’t do their homework, and, as they fail, they drop out of school at 16. Their next production is a baby out of wedlock. Over 50 percent of blacks and Hispanics suffer children out of wedlock and that those children ride the welfare rolls.

To back up Governor Lamm’s statements, Denver Public Schools, mainly illegal aliens and other minorities, suffer a 67 percent drop out/flunk out rate. Facts are facts! All the minority leaders scream names, but they can’t deny the facts of Governor Lamm.

As a former teacher in Colorado, I know that Lamm states the facts. My minority students rarely turned in their homework. I was forced to pass them to the next grade. As they learned to ‘play’ this kind of ‘affirmative-action’ grading, they discovered that, by doing nothing, they would be passed up to the next grade. By the time they graduated from high school, they enjoyed a high school diploma that didn’t show they were functionally illiterate, but it gave them an automatic ‘affirmative-action’ job such as answering a government phone while they painted their nails. It’s called getting something for nothing, but working, taxpaying citizens foot the bills.

For stating the facts, Hispanic and black leaders called Lamm a “racist”. As the Paul Revere Riders state the unadulterated facts across America on our ride, counter demonstrators call us all sorts of names. It shows me than when someone cannot debate with reason and integrity, they resort to name calling.

Virginia offered gorgeous green mountains. We cruised through valleys while we throttled up mountain grades. As we’ve rolled along the East Coast, the numbers of cars and trucks grows commensurate to population density.

I am a bit disappointed that millions of truckers, while parked in truck stops, allow their engines to idle. As I used to truck for United Van Lines during my summers, I know that idling engines waste 1,000 gallons annually. When I was a trucker, that meant $1,000.00 wasted along with 1,000 gallons of fuel. Now that it’s $3.00 a gallon, it’s $3,000.00 wasted, but more importantly, it’s 1,000 wasted gallons annually times three to four million truckers in a time when we’re running out of oil. Go figure.

As I travel throughout America, I notice terrible waste. Fast food joints distribute plastic cups that fly everywhere along the road after five minutes of use, but endure for hundreds of years without breaking down. In parking lots, people throw entire bags of fast food leftovers onto the pavement. Often, a six pack of empty beer cans remains for someone else to pick up. These purveyors of trash take no responsibility in their actions. Most states offer no recycling of bottles, cans or plastics. If they do, it’s voluntary, which means, few participate. I see 70 foot long trailers tossed into the woods along with cars, tractors and outright piles of junk. Americans change 200 million tires every year. Many end up in lakes, streams, rivers and piles along the highway. I’m amazed how people can look at a pile of 100-1000 tires on their landand do nothing to change the desecration of that abomination. How can they stand by while plastic trash bags create a mini-mountain alongside their homes? How much trouble is it to have old cars hauled to a junk yard for recycling? I’d be embarrassed out of my wits to present the world with trash and wrecked cars in my yard for years on end.

We sped through Virginia into West Virginia. It’s a lot of fun riding motorcycles through endless curves, especially with gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. However, the aforementioned paragraph applies to much of West Virginia. For such a beautiful state, it’s a shame what I saw on the back roads. I suspect that generations grow up thinking what they see is normal, so they don’t do anything about it.

West Virginia’s golden dome emerges out of green woods in a heavily forested valley. Black trim accents the dome, and inside, Senator Robert C. Byrd is the only statue I saw. He is named, “West Virginia’s Man of the 20th Century”. While hundreds of people honked at our signs, only one man showed up, Marion to represent West Virginia’s concern for illegal aliens.

It showed me that, much like Texas, New Mexico and Arizona ranchers battling illegal aliens nightly, no one cares when it’s not bothering them. If Byrd’s state suffered the same consequences as Arizona, he would stand up, speak out and take action. As it its, there’s not enough jobs in West Virginia for citizens let alone illegalsso, no problem in that state.

We rolled into southeastern Ohio’s verdant farmland. As it’s mid summer, nine foot tall corn grows along rolling hill sides. Farmers harvested winter wheat weeks ago while they await their summer crops. They’ve completed first cutting of hay and await second cutting if the drought lets up. Our destination after staying at Ray and Judy’s beautiful farmColumbus, Ohio.

How are we holding up? As you can imagine, each of us faces our own set of challenges. I know Micha misses her kids back in Texas. I’ve seen her cry her eyes out as she throttles her Harley down the highway. Yet, she stands up for her country and her children’s’ future. Cindy, being an ICU nurse, maintains a steady keel, but worries about her elderly mother in South Carolina. Thankfully, she was able to visit her mother as we passed through. Rick misses his wife and grandkids, but nonetheless, his passion for their future stands upper most in his mind. Rick balances all of us each morning with, “Hello wonderful world…it’s a great day to be alive.” My brother Howard works 15 hours a day sending press releases, answering phone calls, giving radio interviews and keeping the Paul Revere Riding team on time at all our rallies. He also drives the media truck! Me? Steady as she goes. I write two columns each week. I’m dead asleep before my head hits the pillow each night. I miss Sandi and can’t wait for her to join us for the last week of the ride. She is my sparkle sunshine. Also, I say a lot of prayers for America while I’m riding down the expressways. I love America, her people and, as “Ma” that 69 year old Alabama grandma riding that big Harley Davidson Road King said, “I ain’t given my country up without a fight!”

Yes, this is a long, hard ride. Some days with no people showing up at rallies, I wonder if it’s worth it. Other days, with big media coverage, I’m elated. In the end, Paul Revere rode through the night not knowing either, but he spurred his horse toward his country’s destiny. My dad said, “Son, everything you do in life, counts!” My dad, Master Sergeant Howard Wooldridge, a U.S. Marine, meant what he said. I’ve lived that philosophy all my life. I’m proud of my dad and I hope to God he’s looking down right now and proud of me. My mom’s proud of me, too. She’s still cheering me down the side lines as I head toward the end zone: Washington, DC.

Some days we’ve hammered 600 miles and, other days, only 200. We probably average 275 per day. We call campgrounds and “Motel 6″ home! As of today, we’ve ridden 15,000 miles with 4,000 miles more to go. We’ve done 37 capitols with 11 more to go. We’ve talked to 91 TV camera crews, 85 newspaper reporters, 55 radio shows and thousands of Americans. I think over one million people have waved and honked with thumbs up to our Paul Revere Team. We’ve reached 15 to 17 million people via media.

In Columbus, Ohio, we enjoyed our hosts Ray and Judy along with Roy and Diane. Lovely people from the Midwest!

The rally created counter demonstrators that called us every name in the book. It’s amazing the fowl mouths on those young people and even some of the older ones. About 20 cops kept them from doing harm to us. We gave our speeches for the cameras and rode out of town.

Heading into New York, wow, what beautiful rolling hills! Deep, green woods framed white frame houses, corn fields and silos. We passed by the Erie Canal built in 1851.

If it weren’t for New York City’s total insanity, that state would be paradise on earth!

We’re heading into the last 11 days of the ride. I’m sitting back in the saddle every day with good thoughts in my head. We’ve enjoyed some amazing experiences and more to come. Thank you truckers for waving and honking as you pass by! Good night and God’s speed.

“Them illegals take every job in this here town,” an African-American man yelled to me after he saw the sign on the back of my bike. “After Katrina hit, we got flooded with Mexicans. Why is our president siding with them but won’t help us with jobs and housing?”

Another black man at an Auto-Zone shop in Jackson, Mississippi said, “The reason many of us won’t speak up comes from long term discrimination against us by our own government…why is it that Indian immigrants get hundreds of thousands of dollars for loans to buy motels and other businesses, but we can’t get a single loan for anything?”

I couldn’t answer their questions, but I witnessed their complaints. Immigrants from India enjoy millions of taxpayer dollars and have taken over most motels around America. Why did our government not loan American black and Hispanics money to buy and run motels across this country? Why special treatment for Indians, especially in the motel business? Why discrimination against our own citizens in favor of immigrants from a continent 12,000 miles away? Why flood ourselves with immigrants when we don’t assist of our own citizens? More important, why don’t our citizens come first?

What I’m seeing on this motorcycle journey across America is a complete disregard for our citizens in favor of millions of immigrants flooding into the USA and millions of illegal aliens. Somebody in high places floods us with people we don’t need, don’t want, and don’t have the room or resources for. We’ve being flooded with people from a bankrupt immigration law created by Teddy Kennedy in 1965 that added 106 million people in 40 years. Even more sobering, USA Today reported last week, that we shall add another 100 million by 2040. Pray tell, give one reason or advantage to adding 100 million people to the United States in 34 years?

That number grows even as we face rolling blackouts in California this past week because of the unrelenting heat causing millions to use their air conditioners, rolling blackouts in Denver last winter because there wasn’t enough fuel to create energy, and drought in Georgia, Arizona, Colorado and Alabama. Did you see on TV this week that fertilizers have caused a 6,000 square mile dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico? Nothing can live in that area because no oxygen can survive the algae blooms. Can you imagine growing consequences in polluted air that creates more acid rain and numerous other consequences affecting us as our population explodes? Who and why are our leaders flooding us with more and more people when we have millions of poor already here?

Many blacks in Mississippi and all over America struggle with poverty as a way of life. An unacceptably huge number of the black population in America lives in slums, ghettoes and hopelessness. Why won’t our leaders build our poorest citizens’ lives with opportunity instead of spending $300 to build a country like Iraq?

We met a lot of great bikers at the Jackson, Mississippi capitol. We gave our presentation with the media filming everything.

Later, we biked along swamps, pastures and moss-covered trees. Hot and humid defined our journey through the Deep South. Folks gave friendly smiles and waves.

In Alabama, more bikers joined us at the capitol in Montgomery. Again, we gave a top flight rally with much attention from the media. But again, as in weeks past, few Americans showed up. However, one black lady said, “The things that have divided us in the past must be left behind…this dreadful illegal situation is killing black America.”

As I cranked the throttle toward Tallahassee, Florida, I could not help lamenting the loss of regional flavors across America that I enjoyed as a young man. Mom and pop diners once reigned in America, with home style cooking second to none. Each restaurant presented travelers with character, personality and friendliness. Today, every city looks the same with a line of Pizza Huts, MacDonald’s, Burger King, Arby’s and Subways. Never have Americans eaten so poorly–such bland, loaded with chemicals and fat, completely meaningless food as they consume at those establishments. As we’ve traveled throughout America the results of eating empty fast food exhibits itself in the most obese nation on our planet.

Cookie cutter homes dominate America today, but in the South, you can still see elegant architecture. Old men in pickup trucks wave a hand from behind the steering wheel. You enjoy grandfathers rocking on front porches while their hunting dogs sleep in the shade away from a hot sun.

Thank you Abate Motorcycle club in Tallahassee for making our rally successful as you waved down traffic, held signs, handed out flyers to motorists and spoke to the media. Additionally, if “Mag a 69 year old grandmother riding a Road King Harley-Davidson wants to catch up with the Paul Revere Riders and ride with us, we would be honored. I’ve never seen more spunk in a grandmother in my life! She rode with us and stood out in traffic to gain maximum attention for our cause. “I ain’t givin’ up my country so easy,” she said.

In no time, we headed north toward Atlanta, Georgia. Flat land with tall pines evolved into rolling hills covered in more trees. Atlanta traffic resembles millions of cars driving through wet cement. It’s so packed, it’s a living nightmare. We met D.A. King at the capitol. On a headstone of one of their great leaders it read, “Democratic institutions exist by reason of their virtue. If they ever perish it will happen when citizens have forgotten the past, show indifference to the present and are utterly reckless to the future.”

Within an hour, four TV crews recorded interviews of our Paul Revere Team. The media crews outnumbered the number of supporters. Thank you Nelson and Ferrell, the two motorcyclists who rode up and helped us show signs to cars passing by our rally. Thank you Kirk and several other men who stood with us. Later, we sped into worsening traffic on our way to South Carolina.

Who invented the traffic nightmare in Atlanta? Or any big city? Why? What benefit is gridlock traffic? Who thinks it’s a great idea to grow Atlanta by another couple million people? Will another million people make the gridlock traffic vanish? What are the country’s planners thinking as they add 20 million people to southern California within 30 years? How about 12 million people added to Texas by 2025? How about another three million added to the drought state of Colorado? Doesn’t anyone understand the consequences already being experienced by China and India? Does any single leader in the White House or Congress have a clue?

At the same time, as I drive my motorcycle across our country, I’m struck dumb at the apathy, docility and outright non-interest exhibited by the majority of Americans. Over 80 percent of Americans want this illegal alien invasion stopped, but few speak up as if it will go away by itself. As long as they are not directly affected, they won’t budge off their couch. As long as California suffers its own brand of Mexican misery, no problem! So what if 25 Americans suffer death at the hands of illegal aliens every day of the year, as long as it doesn’t happen to your loved ones. In fact, I noted that 25 deaths to the Mike Rosen Show in Colorado on Monday. He scoffed at that death number saying that it was insignificant because our population stands at 300 million. Rosen scoffed at 9,100 Americans dead every year from illegal alien drunken drivers at 13 deaths and 12 outright killingsevery day! He sickened me with his callous disregard for our citizens’ lives.

Fellow Americans, that’s more deaths per year to American citizens in our “peaceful societyg than to our soldiers in the Iraq/Afghanistan war zone! However, it’s not enough to ruffle the feathers of Mike Rosen or President Bush. You think I’m kidding? You may call Iowa Congressman Steve King for verification of those daily deaths.

While I rolled toward Columbia, South Carolina, these and other sobering realities weighed on my mind. Thousands of emails arrive monthly. They show me that millions know the great danger this country faces. “Dear Frosty, I have been following your emails about the Paul Revere Ride, but tonight, reading your #7 reduced me to uncontrollable tears. First, I want to apologize to you for what you encountered in my state of Wisconsin!

I am horrified at what happened and sickened–I am sickened by our President, our “leaders” and the American people. I cannot believe that our government leaders, the ones who promise to uphold our Constitution and our laws, are selling us out. I have been a supporter of Numbersusa.com for a while, I have faxed and phoned. I have been so enlightened by all the News Alert articles. I am dumbfounded at all that is going on–and rarely, if ever, is it in the press. I grieve and weep as you do for this country and our people. The apathy of the American people is pathetic–it will soon be too late to reverse what is happening. I am thankful for what you are trying to do, but how your heart must be breaking. I just read tonight how President Bush is now selling off our highways to foreign countries, how the Senate has voted not to fund fences for our borders–why can our “leaders” get away with this? Why is the press, why are so many American people so stupid?

This is treason by our leaders–they should all be impeached! I am overwhelmed with disbelief that all of what is happening, all the illegal immigration and everything else can go on in spite of what many American people want. Why don’t our congressmen and senators listen to us? That is what our government is all about. They are ruining my beautiful America. Thank you for all you are doing to bring this before the American people…I can only hope something will wake us up before it is too late, for it will soon be too late for this whole world. Carry on-continue to try and get this message out to America. Thank you, Margaret R.

Thank you Margaret and everyone who writes. At the same time, our numbers grow daily. More people take action in every state. Take heart as D.A. King leads Georgia into the national spotlight with the most prohibitive anti-illegal alien bill which many states will adopt. Mayor Barletta in Hazelton, PA inspires more mayors in other states to go after the business licenses of those who hire illegals and fines to landlords who provide housing. Thank you Fred Elbel, Jan Herron, Terry Graham, Stan Weeks, Glen Colton, Perry Lorenz and Mike McGarry in Colorado for going after illegals and making huge impact. Remember Americans’ collective efforts have pretty much killed S.B. 2611.

Yes, we struggle against our own U.S. Senate bought off by corporations and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. We struggle against CEOs and companies that hire illegals while we subsidize their kids’ education and medical services. Yes, we struggle against a thrust by those who want to flood our country with 200 million more people. To that I say, the worse this national nightmare becomes, the better and more powerful we grow. The more people affected, the more speak up.

The fact is, we can’t sustain another 100 or 200 million people. We can’t maintain this mad rush of economic growth at the expense of our environment, our quality of life and standard of living.

The Paul Revere Team surrounded the Columbia, South Carolina capitol in the early morning on Wednesday. We spoke to TV and newspaper reporters.

We’re back in the saddle. The road ahead widens as we ride out of the city and into the beautiful hills of South Carolina. We touted joining www.numbersusa.com to all audiences.

After 32 states and 14,000 miles, I’m astounded at the beauty God gave us with this amazing country. We enjoy blessings found nowhere else on earth. It behooves all of us to involve ourselves in our country’s future. Thomas Jefferson said, “Dissent is the greatest form of patriotism.g Thomas Paine wrote, “All men must involve themselves in the affairs of their government or lose that which they take for granted.” Mark Twain said, “When the legislature is in session no man’s life or possessions are safe from plunder.”

Stand up for your country with relentless enthusiasm. Make each day a fresh focus. Speak up for the future of your children. Remain steadfast in your noble purpose. If not us, then who? If not now, then when? Good night and God’s speed.
