How to organize a rally for the 21st Century Paul Revere Ride of 2006

The Revere team needs local persons to put together an event in their town. Without such help, the rally in your state capitol or city will be minimal. Please volunteer to help with a rally in your area!

See our route and schedule to find out when the ride will be going through your state. Also check our scheduled rallys and events.

We definitely want to have rallys in state capitols and other cities listed on our schedule. In addition, we would love to meet with 10-100 people at ad-hoc rallys for 30 minutes as we travel across your state. See the events category in our blog for additional rallys and events that have been scheduled.

Here is how to organize a large rally for the 21st Century Paul Revere Ride of 2006.

  1. Contact Ride Coordinator: Howard J. Wooldridge here or at 817-975-1110 and let him know of your efforts in order to avoid duplication. Check with him for best time of day to have a rally.
  2. Contact your local Harley-Davidson dealer and ask where the most common assembly point is for charity rides in the city where you want to hold the rally.
  3. Contact the owner of the recommended property and ask for permission to have 25-100 (or more) motorcycles use their parking lot for less than an hour. If the lot is for a restaurant, mention increased sales.
  4. After permission obtained, get on local talk radio and spread the word of the rally. Put up our flyer at local cycle shops. Ask folks at the cycle shops to send out email alerts. Ask them about local motorcycle clubs and get the word out to clubs. It's important to do this well in advance of the rally!
  5. Contact local and state politicians and invite them to speak to the crowd.
  6. Two days before the event, contact all local newspapers and TV stations requesting they cover the event. You can use one of our press releases as a template. Coordinate with Howard on sending out press releases.
  7. On the day of event – arrive early and check to see if would be okay to block off a back portion of the parking lot for the rally.
  8. After the event, thank the owner of the property.
